The ancient history and the ancient Belief of the Sree Thirupalkadal Temple the known Vaikunada in the world at Keezhperoor.

The ancient history of their temple is still unknown. If it so we have some informations transferred by the precious generation.

As per it during the Theertha yuga at the time of the war between the Lord Sree Rama and Ravana. The Sage Agasthya gave 'Virinjasthra' to the Lord for the assassination of Ravana, or divine Arrow, and the Sage came back to “Dwaraka”.

From there the sage along with his disciples “Ay vers” arrived at this divine hamlet of Keezhperoor.

The nature of this place attracted him so much. Some super nature power of this place inspired him to conduct meditation under a divine tree ‘Elanji’ .

During the course of meditation the full figure of the Supreme Lord Sree Mahavishnu was manifestedin his mind.

The inspired him to make a temple for the Lord. He done so and installed the first diety of the Lord in the presence of the Lord and went to the "Agasthyakuda".

The “Ay” empire in the period of Sangham work that was 4 th to 7 th century A.D had been divided in to 5 petty kingdoms as per the history book named “ History of the venad in the dark period ” by the famous historian Sir: Elamkulam Kunjan Pillai. They were Odanadu, Chiravai, Keezhperoor, Thrippappoor and Venadu.

Amongst them, Keezhperoor kingdom was the famous one in all respects. It has another name “Koopakam”. This name derived from the name of an attractive well here. The name of the palace of Koopakam, is also “Koopakkar Palace”.

The first King of Koopakam was “Pekan” as mentioned in the “Puram Nanoor of Sanghom work” song number 141 & 147 “Aviar Peru Makan Nalloor Nadhamaya Pekan”. I do not know whether Koopakom had another name as “Nalloor Desam ’’.

Anyway a great part of Keezhperoor is still known us “Nalloor Desam” . King Pekan renovated this temple and accepted this temple as their dynastic temple.

The members of the Royal family are still accepting it as their first "Adikula Koil”.

It was on the 8th Century AD ie 769-837 Sree Kulasekhara Azhwar was the King of Kulasekhara Empire. He came here along with the “Adi Sree Sankaracharya”, he was a yogi also.

Through his super spiritual power he identified this temple. He brought a four armed replica from Gujarath and renovated. He installed under the priest hood of Sree Sankaracharya.

He placed this temple in the divine book of "Divya Prakanth" as the 107th Divya Desam. He sung devotional songs numbering as 2256, 2618, 2661, 2835, 2844, 2963, 3454, 3456 and 3470 refer to Sree Thirupalkadal Temple.

It was in 149 kollam era the Keezhperoor based Vendau was ruled by the king “Sree Vallathan Kothai”. His mother demanded to him to reconstruct this temple as that of the real Vaikunda in the heaven.

His mother was so much loveable to her son Sree Vallabhan Kothai. She constructed “Devi Deveswaran temple 4km away from here to celebrate his birthday “Uthradam Vizha that comes in the month of Kumbham(April-March).

As per the request of his mother he invited all the temple designers in Kerala and informed to them about the demand of his mother. Some time later they submitted an imaginary figure of the Vaikunda.

This temple situated on the base of “Panchavarga” and on the first step of the Padukam sculptured fedals of lotus around the temple.

The second step (Jagathy) is made as that of the celestical serpant “Ananda”.

The third step kumundam made in stone with elephants and vyalies connected each other as a chain around the temple. Vyali is supported to seen an animal in the heaven.

Sree Dakshina Moorthy can be seen on the South side of the wall and Sree Brahma Deva on the North side. Both are seem meditating in sitting posture.

On the front side figurative translation of the'Moola manthras' or basic hyms can be seem on the both sides of the balustrade, inside the Geethagriha near the Brahma Pada at where installed a four armed diety of the Supreme Lord Sree Mahavishnu having the height of 55 inches.

The attractive feature of their temple is that roof of this temple has been divided in to 36”Rasies ‘ or segments. Each of them separated with each arrows.

The divine number of the Lord in “12”. While we divide ‘36’ with ‘12’ we get the divine number “3”. This represents Brahma+Vishnu+Maheswara.

Parabhrahmaswaroopa is the combination of the three entities. Brhama, Vishnu, Maheswara .

Inside the temple there is Sree Para-Brahma Swarroopa. And again while we multiple ‘36’ with the number “3” we get the divine basic number “108”. This represents “108” Peetas or seats of the Goddess “ Adi Parasakthy".

There was a sentence in door of gopuram is that " Sree Bhoodevi Nachiyar Sametha Ksheerabdhinadha Parabramhane Namah"

Inside the temple there is “Adiparasakthy” also. Lotus and “Ananda” are the divine resting seats of the Supreme Lord and the Supreme goddess. It shows the skillness of the ancient temple designers. The nature of real Vaikunta is hidden in its. They are observing the world. Why?

“Whenever Dharma decays I, myself born for the protection of Dharma and distruction of adharma “ Oh Bharatha I born age to age.
